A city-wide performing-arts festival in which artists bring theatre, comedy and many other forms of live work to venues across Edinburgh. The breadth of the programme lets visitors combine familiar performers with experimental discoveries. Suitable for audiences who enjoy planning several shows and for artists considering participation; the official source explains how the open festival works and provides practical guidance for each edition.
